How Does Cost Compare?
An in-office whitening treatment is more expensive for a few reasons – your dentist is monitoring you throughout the whole process, a higher concentration of bleaching gel is used, and it’s also the quickest way to see results. While each of these also double as great advantages to having your teeth whitened in-office, it does come with a higher price tag.
In comparison, take-home trays are significantly more cost-effective. In fact, these trays are actually reusable! Instead of paying for a one-time procedure, you already have the trays – all you need is a refill of the whitening gel to fill them with. You could end up getting 5-6 whitening treatments out of the same trays, all from the comfort of your home too!
How Does Timeframe Compare?
The result at the end of any whitening treatment will vary depending on the shade of your teeth prior to, but both of these options achieve similar results – just in different amounts of time. If you have an important event the next day, an in-office procedure may be worth the additional cost to you. But, on the other hand, if you can wait a week for those pearly whites, take-home trays can achieve similar results without breaking the bank!
